Isabel casting

This summer, the award-winning theater NAATCO is producing the world premiere of ISABEL, an insightful new play about sibling relationships and gender exploration.  We are looking for young actors across the country who identify with trans manhood/trans masculinity to audition.  We welcome and invite gender-non-conforming, genderqueer, transgender, and non-binary actors to submit for the roles they most identify with.

ISABEL was written by playwright reid tang (they/them), and will be directed by Kedian Keohan (they/he).

The production rehearses from May 20 - June 12th, and performances run from June 13 - July 6th, all in New York City.  Any non-NYC-based actors who are hired will have their travel and housing paid for in addition to their salary.

We are currently casting the following roles:

HARRIET, mid 20s, he/him, cis or trans man, Asian.  Matt's sibling: Exuberant, optimistic, would unironically have Live Love Laugh decor. May appear airheaded, a puppy dog, but he's just letting you think that.

ISABEL, 20ish, Isabel, trans man. Harriet's partner: The cool extrovert in the room; surprisingly bad at handling crisis. A little mean, but that's armor. Actively seeking Asian actors for this role, but open to actors of all ethnicities.

Please send an email to submissions@tbdcastingco.com with your headshot and resume. If you are comfortable doing so, please also include a short sentence with your pronouns and how you self-identify.
